I love reading books. Although it takes up too much time, I still consider it productive. Here is a list of recommended books that I have read or have been planning to read. Most of them has a movie adaptation. But so far the book version has been better. Check out my list.
Lorien Legacy series
When I watch the movie I thought it was a good movie. I expected the book to be better. I am not dissapointed. The book series is something you will get hooked on. I have started reading it a few days ago and in less than two weeks I have completed reading up to book four.
Percy Jackson book series
I learn about Percy Jackson when I first saw the movie. And just like I am number four, the books are addictive. The good thing about the book is that you learn about Greek and Roman Gods on the process. This is highly recommended.
The series is divided into two pentology. Percy Jackson and the Olympians and Percy Jackson and tge heroes of Olympus.
Percy Jackson & the Olympians
Percy Jackson The heroes of Olympus
Maze Runner book series
There are movies about the first three books of the series. The movies are great. I haven’t had the chance to read all the books but so far I have had a hard time putting the book down.
The Mortal Instruments
I first learn about the book when they created a movie adaptation of the City of Bones book. And they created a Shadowhunter TV series based on the books. Off course there a lot of differences but I am enjoying the books compared to the movie
Magnus Chase Series
There are no movie and TV series adaptation of Magnus Chase but since this is written by Rick Riordan, the writer of Percy Jackson, I had to check it out.
Harry Potter Book series
I don’t think you need any introduction to Harry Potter. Everbody must have seen at least one Harry Potter movie.
JK Rowling has the ability to make her readers feel what the Characters are feeling at each point of the Movie. Of all the Books that I have read, Harry Potter is still my Favorite. I must read each book at least 4 times.
Additional Harry Potter Books
You might have noticed that all the books are mostly fantasy genre. I have read other books by Dan Brown, Mitch Albom, Paulo Coelho but have focused on books that could be recommended to kids. I have been encouraging my daughter to read books and the list is something that would appeal to their interest. Check out my tips to encourage your kids to start reading books.
